Some Questions for people who don’t believe in Privilege

  • Why is it that waving a Mexican flag in Texas is considered treason, but waving a Confederate flag in Alabama is considered pride in your heritage?
  • Why is it that a trans person going into a bathroom that feels right to them is seen as creepy and perverse, but when Donald Trump walks into a dressing room full of half-naked teenage girls it’s ”Boys will be Boys”?
  • Why is it that teachers unions are bad but police unions are good?
  • Why is it that a chronically unemployed opiate addicted white guy living on food stamps in Ohio is a victim of the global economy and government neglect, but a chronically unemployed opiate addicted black guy living on food stamps in Baltimore is an example of a culture of dependency and personal moral failure?
  •  Why is it that a Christian who shoots up an abortion clinic is called a “Lone Wolf” but a Muslim who shoots up an army base is part of a “worldwide Jihadist conspiracy”?
  • Why is it that Black Lives Matter is seen as racist and violent, but Blue Lives Matter is seen as an example of solidarity with honorable people struggling in difficult situations?
  • Why is it that we always hear about the rape victim’s sexual past but the rapist’s enormous potential?
  • Why is it that a White man with a gun is called a Patriot but a Black man with a gun is labeled a Threat?
  • How is it that illegal immigrants are all lazy criminals and welfare cheats, but they still manage to steal our jobs?
  • Why is it that white people go to rehab but black people go to jail?
  • Why is it that the same advice- “Don’t talk back, don’t make any sudden moves, do whatever they tell you” applies equally well whether you are confronting a mugger or a cop?
  • How is it that some people feel a “Muslim ban” is OK, but saying “Happy Holidays” discriminates against Christians?
